The Computer Science Department of Riau University held a public lecture on "DevOps and Software Development with Pertamina Hulu Rokan" on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Kampar Theater in the Integrated Classroom Building. The event began at 7:30 a.m. WIB and was attended by students from various study programs with great enthusiasm.

This event featured speakers who are practitioners and experts in the field of information technology from Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR). The first speaker, Triatmojo Rosewanto, Vice President of Information Technology at PHR, shared strategic insights on the role of information technology in supporting the operational sustainability of the national energy company.

Next, Elan Kusuma Kurniawan, Senior Manager of Information Technology at PHR, discussed in-depth the implementation of DevOps on an industrial scale, including challenges and best practices for software developers.

The next session featured Rizky Hadi, a VR/AR/MR Expert, who introduced the use of virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality technologies to support work efficiency, training, and digital-based innovation. Equally engaging, Bayudita, a DevOps expert, presented the latest DevOps practices relevant to the needs of modern industry, and provided a concrete illustration of a faster, more adaptive, and integrated software development process.

The discussion and presentation were moderated by Dr. Rahmad Kurniawan, S.T., MIT., who successfully created an interactive atmosphere between the speaker and the participants. Students were highly engaged, as evidenced by the numerous questions they asked regarding DevOps implementation, career opportunities in information technology, and the latest developments in the use of VR/AR/MR in industry.

This public lecture not only provided academic insight but also enriched students' knowledge of how information technology is applied in real-world situations in the energy industry. The participants' enthusiasm demonstrated the students' keen interest in understanding and preparing themselves for the demands of the workplace, which increasingly demands collaboration between technical expertise and technological innovation.

With this event, it is hoped that students of the Computer Science Department at the University of Riau will be further motivated to develop their competencies and be ready to contribute to meeting the digital challenges of the Industry 4.0 era.
