Riau University was one of the campuses selected as the location for the IDCamp Connect Roadshow Offline, a series of educational activities from IDCamp (Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Digital Camp) — an online coding scholarship program from Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Dicoding aimed at developing competent young Indonesian digital talent ready to compete in the era of digital transformation.
Themed "Exploring the World of AI: From Basics to Career Opportunities," the event attracted hundreds of students, particularly from the Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Participants gained comprehensive insight into the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the basic concepts needed to understand, and the wide variety of career opportunities available as the industry demands increasing talent in the technology sector.

The event was also attended by Riau University leaders, including Vice Rector II (General Affairs & Finance), Yuana Nurulita, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.; Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Dr. Syamsudhuha, M.Sc, and the Head of the Computer Science Department, Tisha Melia, B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D. Several Computer Science lecturers also attended, fully supporting this digital competency development program.

In their remarks, the university expressed its appreciation for IDCamp, which has consistently provided free and widespread access to coding learning for Indonesia's young generation. This roadshow is expected to motivate students to develop digital skills, particularly in AI and programming, so they can compete globally.
The roadshow covered a comprehensive introduction to AI, its implementation in everyday life and the industrial world, and various career paths—from Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, AI Researcher, to AI Product Specialist. Participants were also given an overview of how to begin their learning journey through the Dicoding platform and utilize the IDCamp curriculum to gradually improve their competencies.
The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session and discussion with the speakers, which was enthusiastically received by the students. With the implementation of the IDCamp Connect Roadshow Offline Goes to Universitas Riau, it is hoped that more students will be encouraged to prepare themselves to face the increasingly competitive digital era.
